Key West, Fl - 7/3/2009 The Panasonic Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix official Kilo event kicked off with record setting performances by the Seminole Hard Rock Super Vee Unlimited and turbine powered Miss Geico. The 44’ catamaran Miss Geico made two official passes for the day, establishing a new world record in the Turbine class of 184.002 mph. This record is the first record to be set in the history of this class and means a lot to veteran throttleman Scott Begovich. “We thought we were going to break 190 mph today, but we were still really happy with 184 mph. 4TH OF JULY SPECTACULAR
Key West, Fl - 6/25/2009 The Super Boat International Racing Series (Super Boat International) will return to Sarasota, Fla., for the 25th anniversary of the Panasonic Suncoast Offshore Super Boat Grand Prix Festival. The Festival will take place July 2 – 5 and includes a parade on Thursday, a kilo run on Friday and two races on Sunday. Thousands of spectator boats and enthusiastic race fans are expected to line local beaches and inlets to catch a glimpse of the powerboats. Key West, Fl - 6/9/2009 Racers battle choppy waters and head-to-head match ups at Panasonic Fort Lauderdale Grand Prix, Miss Geico and Seminole Hard Rock emerge victorious. The Panasonic Fifth Annual Fort Lauderdale Super Boat Grand Prix had all the ingredients of a great boat race – choppy waters, multiple lead changes and lots of action over the five-mile course overlooking historic Fort Lauderdale beach. Key West, Fl - 5/30/2009 The Super Boat International Racing Series (Super Boat International) will visit Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on June 5 – 7, for the Panasonic Fifth Annual Fort Lauderdale Super Boat Grand Prix. The Fort Lauderdale racecourse is a rectangle, with long straightaways and sharp corners that test the partnership between driver and throttleman.
