Key West, Fla (March 20, 2018) — Linda O’Brien, former Fantasy Fest director and longtime credential and parking operations for Super Boat International (SBI), will return with Super Boat International to Key West for the 38th Annual Super Boat Key West World Championship November 4 – 11, 2018.
“We are pleased to have Linda continue after retirement to be a part of our race event team,” said John Carbonell, SBI president. “Linda has worked with our team for more than 20 years and we know we can rely on her to help produce an exciting and fun World Championship event for our teams and fans.”
Linda retired last year and moved to Norfolk, Virginia, after managing Fantasy Fest operations for nearly 30 years. She is an experienced marketing and events professional who knows how to create high profile, impactful events that excite and engage people.
“I’m not going to lie, I’m enjoying retirement, but I am delighted to continue working with the Super Boat International team,” Linda O’Brien said. “This is one of the outstanding events Key West is known for and it’s always a high adrenaline way to kick off the season.”
Carbonell and his team made a visit to the Truman Waterfront Park race site and witnessed the progress park development. The amphitheater is in, landscaping is getting completed and the final parcels are starting to take shape and should be ready for the spectacular November race. Carbonell comments, “This development has been in the works a long time and while we have had many meetings with the city to ensure it will accommodate our race teams… it looks like it is coming together.”
