We at Super Boat International are mourning the loss of our dear friend and former colleague, John Wischler.
John, 52, died Monday, January 13th, 2014 at home in New Orleans, LA after a long hard fought battle with cancer.
Super Boat president John Carbonell said, “John joined our staff in 2000 and soon became a trusted friend and a valuable asset to our organization. He was responsible for transporting our equipment to our various race sites and worked closely with me throughout the years.”
While working with us, John met another member of our Super Boat family, registrar/scorer, Crystal Cormack, who became his wife.
Together they enjoyed traveling and working at many races together, making friends in the U.S. as well as the Bahamas.
Even after his retirement from Super Boat in 2004 and his subsequent cancer diagnoses in 2009, John and Crystal remained close friends with many in the racing community. It was with great pleasure that we were able to spend time with them during their visits to the 2012 World Championship races in Key West, FL and the June 2013 race in Orange Beach, AL.
John’s loss will be felt throughout the racing community, where he will be greatly missed.
Super Boat wishes to extend our thoughts and prayers to his many friends and family.
